Interests/Special Aspects of scope of Practice Personal Interests: Samuel LeBaron, MD, PhD, completed a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Michigan State University in 1979. He then conducted research and clinical work for several years on mind-body approaches to managing problems associated with chronic illness. He completed his MD training in 1989 at the University of Calgary in Canada, and a residency in Family Medicine in San Jose, CA. Since his arrival at Stanford in 1992, he has focused much of his energies on medical student education, and he has received several awards for outstanding teaching. He has completed additional training in medical acupuncture, which he incorporates into his clinical work. He was appointed the Director of the Center For Education In Family And Community Medicine in 2002 and has served in that role since then. Affiliated
